Summa recognized for outstanding contribution toward customer success in fourth annual Salesforce partner innovation awards

San Francisco –September 15, 2015 – Summa today announced it has been named the recipient of the Salesforce partner innovation award for Nonprofit success. In receiving this award, Summa was recognized for its work with The United Way of Southwestern PA that helped transform how the nonprofit organization interacts with donors and volunteers and provide a model for all United Ways worldwide. The award was presented at Dreamforce 2015, the world’s largest software event.

Working with Summa, The United Way of Southwestern PA transformed the way it fund raises, services, markets, engages and builds apps to evolve donor and volunteer management from workplace campaigns to individual relationships with donors and volunteers. A new 360-degree view of donors empowers the United Way of Southwestern PA to develop deeper, long-term relationships with its donors, increasing donor retention and donor-to-volunteer conversion. Workplace campaigns, still a vital component of fundraising, have also been enhanced to allow companies to customize the campaigns based on their own goals and objectives. Donors and volunteers can now work through mobile applications and have recommendations presented to them based on their past donation and volunteer history. The new platform also allows the United Way team to view its donors and volunteers as both an individual and a workplace contributor.

“We are honored to receive the Foundation Partner Innovation Award for our work with the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania. This recognition is a result of our successful partnership with the Salesforce team in helping the United Way achieve their goals,” said Audrey Dunning, CEO, Summa

“People under 40 years old look upon the United Way differently than previous generations. They generally don’t just make a donation because their boss says that they have to. We’re aligning to a different world where we need to be directly in contact with the donors rather than only working through their companies," said George Pashel, Senior Vice President, The United Way. "Summa and Salesforce are helping us to achieve this transformation.”

“We welcomed Summa to the Foundation Partner program this year as an Impact Partner and already we are seeing the positive effect within our ecosystem. We look forward to continued work with the Summa team to continue their leadership within the United Way community.” - Neeracha Taychakhoonavudh, Senior Vice President of Partner Programs & Marketing, Salesforce
